Why are you called Spartan 6 Inc.?
The Word Spartan
We chose to name our company Spartan 6 because the Spartan's had a very focused culture, from their blunt manner of speaking to their dedicated focus on building military success ingrained into every element of their entire society. Spartan 6 models the Spartan commitment and dedication and instead of creating a military empire we strive to create MANY EMPIRES - at least one for each of our clients, by taking them to the top of their game.
The Spartan's blunt manner of speaking translates into being direct with our customer, giving them the expert advice they need and providing them with honest advice.
The Number 6
Because of the concept of 6 degrees of separation. A theory that says that everyone in the world is approximately 6 steps away from another person. And to Spartan 6, that means that any answer you're searching for is only 6 degrees away from you - and Spartan 6 is the connection that makes that happen.

Dafne Canales - Creative & Passionate Strategist
Dafne brings her entrepreneurship experience, her passion, excitement and curiosity to Spartan 6. She takes complicated systems and turns them into easy to action-oriented steps that anyone can follow.
Dafne first started creating systems during her role as a Business Development Manager for Corporate Traveller, a division of Flight Centre, when they first came to Calgary in 2002- where she created sales and marketing materials, and business development systems that were soon implemented across North America.
In a chance to follow her passion, Dafne opened a dance studio and leveraged her obsession with systems to create a unique and successful “dance-studio formula.” In 2005, with using Spartan 6's online marketing software, she was able to create a six figure income with virtually no advertising - just through automatically generated online leads. The dance studio grew to 12 instructors who each operated out of different locations and featured an award winning dance troupe that performed internationally.
The decade-long entrepreneur experience allowed Dafne to learn invaluable lessons about running a business, human resources, marketing and about the way people learn. After completing her Executive MBA at the University of Calgary in 2012 Dafne is now combining her knowledge of finance, marketing and entrepreneurship to continue propeling her clients to new levels.
Dafne is very active in the community, she was a founding member of Global Fest - Calgary's Largest International Fireworks Festival, is on the Board for the C.A.R.E. Society and and founder of the Arabia Adorned Dance & Culture Foundation (not-for-profit organization).
Bernie Lees - Optimizer & Business Process Guru
Bernie has been working with companies since 1999 to reduce redundancy by looking for ways to automate processes.
Bernie's passion for technology began as a child when his father brought home an Original Computers IBM XT and IBM AT, one of the first in Western Canada, back in the early 80’s. Bernie started programing at the age of six years old, creating bulletin board software on the computer; throughout his teens he experimented with BBS Software and the beginning of the Internet.
His career began with the development of billing software for Calgary Telecom, a Voice-Over-IP start-up in the early 2000s. Soon after, he was sought-out to help with the Search Engine Optimization and web-development of a million dollar a year online business, that wanted more efficient systems. The success of the methods implemented led to a million dollars in sales per month for the 3 business owners. Bernie took the cue and began writing his own Online Marketing Software - while continuing to work in the high-tech field.
Bernie joined Neteller in 2005 as a release engineer, where he created a program to automate the release process, which resulted in the automation of eight human positions working for an entire week – changed to the click of a single keystoke. After Neteller, Bernie was asked to consult in the area of release management at Telus, and then at Shaw Communications in the video-on-demand department - where some of his pet-projects at the corporation have seen an increase in sales in the hundreds of thousands.
Bernie's hobbies are in RC Car Racing and traveling the world following Formula One Racing. He is a board member of WCICS Racing Tournament and an active member of the RC Community.
