Bernie Lees- Chief Technology Officer

Spartan 6 software has been developed since 1999 under the direction of Bernie Lees, who saw the need to reduce redundancy by looking for ways to automate processes.

Bernie's passion for technology began as a child when his father brought home an Original Computers IBM XT and IBM AT, one of the first in Western Canada, back in the early 80’s. Bernie started programing at the age of six years old, creating games on the computer; throughout his teens he experimented with BBS Software and the beginning of the Internet.

His career began with the development of billing software for Calgary Telecom, a Voice-Over-IP start-up in the early 2000s. After which he began writing the software behind the Spartan 6 System. Bernie joined Neteller in 2005 as a release engineer, where he created a program to automate the release process, which resulted in the automation of eight human positions. After Neteller, Bernie was asked to consult in the area of release management at Telus, and then at Shaw Communications in the video-on-demand department.
